Which certified lift maintenance companies are there?

Legal requirements

For lift maintenance no companies are appointed by the minister, but lift maintenance companies must always comply with all legal requirements and (local) safety regulations.

Certified companies

When choosing a maintenance company, you can ask for the NEN-EN 13015 certificate. This certificate means that the maintenance is carried out by the company in such a way that the lift complies with the Liften Directive.

The inspection of lifts

In the Netherlands there are recognized inspection bodies that are allowed to inspect elevators. These companies deal with the periodic inspections. Approved inspection bodies are appointed by the Minister of Social Affairs and Employment. Inspectors of inspection bodies of elevators check doors, electrical installation and brakes. They also check if and how trapped passengers can be released from the lift and if all present documents are present such as the lift book and operating manuals.
